Today, we have finally published our RumexWeeds dataset! It targets the detection of the grassland weeds: Rumex obtusifolius L. and Rumex crispus L.. RumexWeeds includes whole image sequences with totally 5,510 images of 2.3 MP resolution and 15,519 manual bounding box annotations as well as 340 ground truth pixels-wise annotations, collected at 3 different farms and 4 different days in summer and autumn 2021. Additionally, navigational robot sensor points from GNSS, IMU and odometry are recorded. More detailed information can be found here.

It is a big milestone in the project for me.

Finalists for the Best Paper Award on Agri-Robotics (IROS 2021)

Such a nice suprise, hitting me during my participation at the IROS 2021 conference: our paper “Few-leaf Learning: Weed Segmentation in Grasslands” has been among the four Finalists for the Best Paper Award on Agri-Robotics. In the end, we didn’t win the award, but it is still an honour to be selected from that huge pool of high-quality agricultural papers.

Paper Acceptance at iROS 2021!

Our Paper “Few-leaf Learning: Weed Segmentation in Grasslands” has been accepted at IEEE’s International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2021). The motivation behind the work is to significantly simplify the creation of grassland datasets. It will be greatly supporting the GALIRUMI project in this process. video
